Adult Education is a documentary I created for the Community Voice Lab in collaboration with LAYCCA. It follows Tony Duran, an educator at an adult charter school, as he realizes how his own experiences with representation in education shape the kind of teacher he wants to be.
This film was a turning point for me as a filmmaker. I learned how powerful it can be to truly collaborate with my subjects—giving them space to tell their own stories rather than just capturing them. That approach made the film richer, more honest, and more meaningful.
